NIKKEN SEKKEI AND TOKYU ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS PROJECT CONSORTIUM
Outline
This is a leading project for the urban renewal of Shibuya, located on the former site of the Tokyu Bunka Kaikan at the east exit of Shibuya Station. It is a high-rise complex consisting of offices, cultural facilities, and commercial facilities. The area surrounding Shibuya Station has been designated as an Urban Renewal Emergency Development Area, and the floor area ratio of this site has been reduced to 1370%. The third basement level is directly connected to Shibuya Station on the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line. The Urban Core, which serves as a nexus between the underground and aboveground areas, and between the station and the city, also serves as an underground ventilation void, and has been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Housing and Building CO2 Reduction Project.
