SALHAUS
Outline
A project to relocate and reconstruct a 43-year-old fire station. This is the second project to be undertaken by Sumida Town, which has abundant timber resources, as part of its "woody city center" project, following the Sumida Town Hall on the south side of the site (Journal 1411). The building was constructed using the traditional through-and-through construction method, which uses wedges and plugs instead of metal fittings.
